Genetically disposed to be fat.

"My Dad was fat and my Grandfather was  fat and I am also getting fat.

I suppose that I am genetically controlled and I will become as fat as my Father and Grandfather were. I have no control over the situation as it is all in the genes."


If you really believe that you are genetically destined to be fat and fail to take any action to control your weight because of this, then you will end up being fat.

Far too often weight gain can is blamed on Genetics. Unfortunately it is far easier to blame something or someone else for your problem instead of taking responsibility and dealing with the problem yourself.

While genetics can cause your body frame to be bigger or smaller, and even control the shape of your body, it does not control the amount of fat in your body. You control that and no-one else.

Sure, if your Dad was fat and you believe in your heart that you are destined to be fat, and as a result of your belief you start to pig out on all the food you see and never do any form of exercise, then guess what - you will become fat - but it had nothing to do with genetics.

How Do I Break Free From This Weight.

Once you fully understand that genetics does not control the amount of body fat you have, you need to start to change your outlook on life.

Weight gain is merely a result of a simple equation :-   

Calories in - calories out = weight gained or lost.

By reducing calories coming into your body you are already off to a good start. I am not saying that you need to starve yourself, but that you should look at all the unneccessary calories that you eat or drink a day and start to eliminate them.

Fizzy drinks are high in calories and tend to fill your system with toxins which in themselves also contribute to weight gain. Replace fizzy drinks and coffee with water instead. Water washes your system and helps to remove harmful toxins and assists in maintaining your metabolism.

Exercise is a great way to burn off more calories. Exercise does not mean that you have to join a gym. Normal daily activity such as walking, housework etc, all constitutes exercise and burns off calories.
